We like to tell you our story.

Somehow, "it" is already in the family ...

… because the family comes from Franconia, where beer has tradition and has been part of everyday life for centuries.

Even Ralphs grandfather worked in a well-known liqueur factory in Hof. His father-in-law was manager at the former “Patrizier” brewery in Nuremberg. The older son Daniel moved to the “Craft Beer Store” of the Ratsherrn brewery in Hamburg, and Michael, the younger one, is connected to the beer at the brewery Gutmann in Titting.

The fun with beer was so great that Ralph completed his training as a Beersommelier. Together with Daniel. And Michael.

Three Beersommeliers in one family – it was no wonder that Karin Hertrich, who was actually more related to wine, has to talk about beer. Over time, she has to know the different beer styles, especially from the craft beer scene, which sparked her fascination and passion. And so she also readily released a basement room when Ralph started brewing beer in 2012 with a “BrauEule” brewing system.

Ralph has approached the knowledge of brewing by self-educating and has read plenty of literature. The first trials, partly with own hops, have already produced drinikable results. From these, the first interesting hobby varieties were soon created. Of course, not every brew was an immediate success, but Ralph gradually got closer to more complex beers. Recipes were tried, changed, improved or discarded. Dry hopped wheatbeer, bock and double bock, stouts, pale and red ales, IPAs, seasons, witbeers and also a successful chili-ale he developed over the years.

And the more different beers Ralph brewed, the more Karin was thrilled with beer. More and more often she was the one who wanted to taste a bottle from the cellar together in the evening. When Daniel, Michael and Ralph finally crowned their passion with a Beersommelier course, Karin had the idea to share the fun and pleasure of their self-brewed beer with others. In Jörg Binkert Karin and Ralph found a brewer who could convert the beers to a large brewing equipment. He supported the idea with his skills and his network and contributed to making the plan for a new beer label in Feucht nearby Nuremberg a reality.
